Analysis & consulting

If you own the practice or the MVZ, you carry the economic risk of the equipment: depreciation, leasing, service contracts and staff run on whether a scanner is busy or not. Yet it is usually impossible to say which exams actually carry a scanner, what an extra afternoon really brings in, or from which point in the quarter additional budget-bound services are paid only at graduated or quota-based rates.

That is exactly what we work out. What we offer is an analysis with consulting on top – not software you buy and then have to fill yourself. You get figures about your own operation, an interpretation of them, and a prioritised list of what is worth changing. Whether software follows is your decision afterwards.

The analysis is made up of modules. Which of them make sense depends on your question and on your data; we clarify that in the first conversation. The economic modules come first; the operational ones provide the foundation without which they would not be reliable.

  • Scheduling and RIS exports: exam type, scanner, site, planned slot length, status timestamps
  • Modality timestamps from the DICOM headers, for the scanner time actually occupied
  • Billing data: billed codes, payer group, and the marking of budget-bound versus extrabudgetary services
  • Cost figures from accounting or controlling – aggregated if you prefer, without individual salaries
  • Your volume notifications and fee statements from the KV, as far as they matter for the budget state

All of it pseudonymised, and only after a data processing agreement is in place. We do not need names, dates of birth or reports; staff identifiers are removed beforehand. Details under data protection.

  • Data export: by your IT or RIS vendor, mostly one-off. We state exactly which fields we need and check a sample delivery before the full export is produced.
  • Your own time: a first conversation, one alignment session on cost allocation, and the results workshop.
  • Involvement of your team: short questions to the scheduling and radiographer teams about workflows the data cannot explain.

How much effort that means for your practice is agreed in the first conversation.

  • Analysis report with the figures on your operation, the assumptions behind them, and an honest assessment of what the data supports and what it does not
  • Results workshop with you and, if you wish, with medical and commercial management
  • Prioritised measures – each with its expected effect as a range, not as a promise, and with what implementing it would cost
  • A basis for decisions on questions such as opening hours, staffing, slot templates, case mix, or the utilisation of an additional scanner

We quote no figures we cannot evidence from your data, and we give no guarantees on savings or additional revenue.

A first conversation, the analysis, the report and workshop – and optionally the implementation. The phases, with deliverables and decision points, are described in the engagement model. The guardrails that apply to economic planning are set out under Approach.

Implementation: from analysis to ongoing support

Section titled “Implementation: from analysis to ongoing support”

If a measure proves itself and should be supported permanently, we build software for it: dashboards on utilisation and contribution margin, support for slot and appointment planning, a monitor for the budget state during the quarter. That is a separate, downstream step – the analysis stands on its own and is complete without it.

For an impression of what such evaluations look like, see the demo using synthetic data.

Consulting on PACS, workflow optimisation, and workforce and roster planning are planned as further topics. If one of them is pressing for you right now, please get in touch.

We support organisational and economic planning. We do not make diagnoses, do not give treatment recommendations and do not interfere with image acquisition or reporting. Medical decisions remain entirely with your physicians.
